BREEZY X WHALE: BRENDAN DAWES

ABOUT THE PROJECT

$Whale and Breezy started a long-term collaboration to provide a narrative to the $WHALE’s “The Vault”, one of the largest and most valuable collections of NFTs in the entire space through art curation.

Each month we highlight a specific creator or theme, providing rich visuals, high-profile artist interviews, gallery events, and more.

For the month of  February 2022, the presented artist is  BRENDAN DAWES.

CURATORIAL TEXT

There is something extraordinary in how Brendan Dawes speaks about space and time through his art. Sometimes it’s a memory, sometimes the ballet, or an animal, or nature, or geometry, or monochromatic, or studies of shapes, or possibilities of combinations. Always manifesting through beauty and balance.

Brendan Dawes’s body of works appears to be even stronger in a space like that of crypto art, where the inexistence of time and space is one of the cornerstones of the movement itself.

There is always a feeling of suspension in Brendan’s works, temporary existence, and ephemeral. His work truly speaks the language of eternity.

“Heard melodies are sweet, but those unheard
Are sweeter; therefore, ye soft pipes, play on;
Not to the sensual ear, but, more endear’d,
Pipe to the spirit ditties of no tone:
Fair youth, beneath the trees, thou canst not leave
Thy song, nor ever can those trees be bare;
Bold Lover, never, never canst thou kiss,
Though winning near the goal yet, do not grieve;
She cannot fade, though thou hast not thy bliss,
For ever wilt thou love, and she be fair!”

Ode on a Grecian Urn, John Keats

For this occasion, $Whale showcases its incredible collection of 39 works which represents an important cross-section of Brendan Dawes’s production.

PRESS RELEASE

For the month of February, BREEZY CURATES $WHALE presents Brendan Dawes, one of the masters of “the Art of form and Code”. Exploring the relationship with time and space and the interactions between the analog and digital world, his creations exist through the close cooperation between man and technology, fused in a single will.
The artist joined the Crypto community in 2020, fascinated by the infinite creative possibilities that go hand in hand with technological development and the possibility of creating a direct, therefore more intimate, bond with his patrons.
For this occasion, to celebrate this connection between collector and artist, $Whale shows its incredible collection of 39 works which represents an important cross-section of Brendan Dawes’ production.
There is always a feeling of suspension in Brendan’s works, temporary existence, and ephemeral. His work truly speaks the language of eternity.

At the end of the month, as usual, our unmissable exhibition on the Arium platform.
